History

Founded in 1974 as the Lombard Suburban Genealogical Society. In May 1981 the Society moved its reference collection to the Wheaton Public Library helping it to become one of the premiere genealogical research locations of the Chicago suburbs. DCGS has continued to contribute to the genealogical collection over the years. The WPL has readers and printers for both microfiche and microfilm and numerous volumes of reference material that span the nation and the world. Computers are also available that allow access to the whole set of LDS Family Search CDs, Ancestry Plus, Heritage Quest Online, and other resources.

In 2003 DCGS obtained the 501(C)(3) registration to enable it to receive tax deductible and matching-gift donations.

If you would like to help support the Society, please consider donating $5.00.
